Celine Freeman-Gibb

Head Coach & Throws Coach

Celine joined WEAC in 2012 first as an athlete then as a coach. She is a native of Windsor, Ontario, and  has earned three degrees from the University of Windsor -- a bachelor of Human Kinetics in 2013; a bachelor of Education in 2014; and a master of Human Kinetics in 2016.
She competed for the Lances for 5 years earning a handful of medals at the OUA & USport Championships bringing home gold individually twice and helping her team earn 3 National Championships. She then began coaching for the Lancers and was able to help her athletes obtain many OUA & USport medals assisting the team to two national championships along the way. She received the Eddie Chittaro Assistant Coach of the Year Award from the University of Windsor in 2023. Transitioning over to the NCAA in 2023 Celine has now been coaching the Wayne State University Warrior Throwers. They're a very young squad but have already been successful in scoring at their conference championships both indoor and outdoor.
Most recently Celine was named the Throws coach for Team Ontario at Canada Summer Games in 2025, Head Track and Field Coach for Team Ontario at the North American Indigenous Games in 2023, and Head Coach at the Ontario Summer Games for her team in 2022 & 2024.
Away from the track, Freeman-Gibb enjoys playing wheelchair basketball for her local team (Rose City Riot) and for Team Ontario (2024-present) who brought home the bronze medal at nationals in 2025.  She also competes in Highland Games Heavy Events across North American and Europe, serving as the Canadian Scottish Athletic Federation’s President since 2020 and sits on the board for the Women’s World Championship Committee (2024-present).She is a proud dog mom to her and her fiancé Cole’s, black Labrador, Kaya.
